Workshop measurement & fit checks
Component measurements and fit checks for fabrication and repair enquiries in Cape Town. Start with the dimensions that connect your part to the rest of the assembly.
BEHIND THE METALWORK
The right fit starts
with the right measurements.
A metal component has to work with the parts around it. The outside diameter, the gap between neighbouring sections and the shape of a connection can all affect how a replacement or fabricated part fits into an assembly.
These workshop photographs bring those details into view: a vernier-caliper diameter check, a tape measurement across an assembly and a hands-on check between an elbow and a straight section. Together, they show the practical questions worth resolving before cutting, forming or welding begins.
Planning a replacement part or custom component?
Send TUBAFLO a dimensioned drawing, photographs of the existing part or details of a sample you would like us to assess. Our Cape Town team can discuss the metalwork, repair or fabrication scope around your component’s intended use.

Check the connection
A diameter check helps establish how a replacement section will meet an existing component. Include the mating dimensions and any required clearance in your brief.
Make room for the complete assembly
Spacing matters as much as the size of an individual part. Show the surrounding components, connection points and available room when requesting a quotation.
Consider the fit before joining
A physical fit check brings the connection into focus. For formed or welded parts, discuss alignment, joint access and the intended use before agreeing the fabrication scope.
